Maybe It's Because I Loved Him Like This...

Sitting on a train headed home, listening to the iPod Tripp gave me and this comes on... I'm usually more careful with my playlists... this made me seriously think of us... we never really do know when we will run out of time... (Don't cry on the train, don't cry on the train...)

Maybe because I always held on a little tighter, knowing that any moment in the last close to five years now (whoa!) may very well be our last wasn't quite enough...

I found myself dreaming
In silver and gold
Like a scene from a movie
That every broken heart knows we were walking on moonlight
And you pulled me close
Split second and you disappeared and then I was all alone

I woke up in tears
With you by my side
A breath of relief
And I realized
No, we're not promised tomorrow

So I'm gonna love you
Like I'm gonna lose you
I'm gonna hold you
Like I'm saying goodbye wherever we're standing
I won't take you for granted 'cause we'll never know when
When we'll run out of time so I'm gonna love you
Like I'm gonna lose you
I'm gonna love you like I'm gonna lose you

In the blink of an eye
Just a whisper of smoke
You could lose everything
The truth is you never know

So I'll kiss you longer baby
Any chance that I get
I'll make the most of the minutes and love with no regrets

Let's take our time
To say what we want
Use what we got
Before it's all gone
'Cause no, we're not promised tomorrow

So I'm gonna love you
Like I'm gonna lose you
I'm gonna hold you
Like I'm saying goodbye wherever we're standing
I won't take you for granted 'cause we'll never know when
When we'll run out of time so I'm gonna love you
Like I'm gonna lose you
I'm gonna love you like I'm gonna lose you

Hey
Whoa

I'm gonna love you
Like I'm gonna lose you
I'm gonna hold you
Like I'm saying goodbye wherever we're standing
I won't take you for granted 'cause we'll never know when
When we'll run out of time so I'm gonna love you
Like I'm gonna lose you
I'm gonna love you like I'm gonna lose you

  1. It is these moment of remembered sadness that fuel our humanity. If we didn't cry on the train we are just machines.

  2. I'm in a laugh or cry kind of mode today and the first thing that popped into my head when I read your comment was the Miracles' "Love Machine". I'm still sitting here giggling over it...glad I chose to laugh :)
