Not Afraid...

Disclaimer: previously written post...

So many of us know the moment when a love connection is over,

(or at least irretrievably broken)

but few of us stop then.

(mostly because we're idiots)

I am not talking about reactive endings

(although, maybe a big blow up might have done the trick)

I am talking about the deep intuitive knowing that it is time to move on.

(known for months, honestly)

Yet we are either too afraid

(not me, I'm not afraid to walk away),

or too stubborn

(most definitely me),

or too concerned about the other’s feelings to make our move

(guilty here too).

But it is risky to delay, both because we suffer in the broken connection,

(suffer we do...immensely)

and because we hold two souls back from finding the

next step on their individual paths.

(two roads diverged in a yellow wood...guess we each take our own road now)

Whether there is another love waiting around the next corner,

(not for me--done with any new love)

or whether it is simply time to be alone,

(alone doesn't mean lonely)

no one benefits by staying in an busted union.

(the pain of letting go is nothing compared to the pain of holding on)

We have to notice the moment of ending and take it to heart

(no matter how difficult it is...)

Everyone’s personal evolution depends on it.

  2. No. Not sailing on quite yet, and definitely no new harbors!
